Yellowing leaves can be a symptom of overwatering. Your clayey soil may be holding more moisture than you think. Daily watering can keep the soil soggy and exclude oxygen, which can suffocate the roots of your tree. Even though it's hot, your fruit tree should not need to be watered more often than about twice a week. Waiting 3-4 days between waterings will allow the soil to dry out somewhat, and provide the oxygen your tree's roots need. Try tapering off on the water and your tree should recover. Hope it's soon!
