I live in Atlanta, and I have to replant my back yard every year because it burns up. It gets quite a bit of sun now that I have cleared out some trees. Am I going to have to change grasses or install a sprinkler system.

The University of Georgia extension service recommends bermuda grass with an overseeding of perennial rye for a green lawn. Bermuda is a warm season grass and greens up from April through October: perennial rye is a cool season grass which remains green from September through April. If you seed your lawn with bermuda now and then overseed with rye in October, you should have a green turf almost 12 months of the year. Good luck with your lawn!
