|The best time to over seed is between August 15 and September 15. This will give the grass seeds plenty of time to sprout and establish before cold weather arrives. Kentucky Bluegrass is the best choice for your gardening region, followed by a red fescue/Kentucky Bluegrass mixture. Both grasses have excellent heat tolerance and very good cold tolerance. Best wishes with your lawn.
