I have three crepe myrtle trees in my back yard. They are about 7-9 feet tall. They are blooming nicely. However we keep getting new limbs growing from the base of the tree at ground level. They even produce flowers. I'd like to keep the crepe myrles as trees. How can I stop having new limbs grow?

What you describe sounds like your crape myrtle is trying to become a shrub and is sending up suckers. Digging, pulling or cutting off these suckers is the best way to handle them. There's a product called Suckr Stopper that may help. Be sure to follow label directions.
