While some apples are listed as self-fruitful, all apple varieties will develop better crops if a second apple tree is available for cross pollination. Your Fuji is not considered self-fruitful and therefore needs a second variety for good fruit set. Granny Smith, Liberty, Ein Shemer, Dorsett Golden, Spartan, and Gala are good candidates. Or, if your neighbors have apple trees, they may be compatible with your Fuji and you won't need to plant a second tree.
