Shade Shrub - Knowledgebase Question

Can you suggest a suitable shrub/bush which flowers and will do well in a morning shaded area but will get 90 degree afternoon sun in summer months? I would like a plant no more than 5 ft. tall with a spread of 3 ft. maximum. A yellow daisy type shrub is there now and has grown at an angle (prostrate) seeking the sun. I don't want to make the same mistake twice. Thank you.

That sounds like a difficult growing situation. You might try dwarf goldmound spireas or dwarf purple-leaf barberries. The barberry won't bloom to any great degree but it makes up for that with colorful foliage and bright red berries in the winter months.
