Have a corner where 4 yards meet (all with chain link fence) and we need something that will grow about 6 - 8 feet tall but no more than about 2 feet wide. Sun is limited due to nearby trees (oak and sea grape). Live in West Palm Beach, FL. Thx!!

You might consider Aronia arbutifolia ?Brilliantissima? (Red Chokeberry). It grows 6-8' tall and about 3' wide. It is deciduous. Shiny, dark green leaves turn scarlet in fall. White flowers in spring. Showy, bright red berries in fall may persist until January. Juniperus chinensis ?Sea Green? (Sea Green Juniper), 4-6? tall, 3? wide. Evergreen. Arching habit. Soft-textured, bright green foliage. Makes an attractive unsheared hedge. Physocarpus opulifolius ?Summer Wine? (Summer Wine Ninebark) grows 5-6? tall, 3? wide. Deciduous. Deeply cut dark purple-red foliage.
Pinkish white flowers in spring. Colorful, vigorous and disease-free. Fast growing.
Thuja occidentalis ?Holmstrup? (Holmstrup Arborvitae), 6-8? tall, 3? wide. Evergreen. Shortest of the pyramidal arborvitaes. Dark green, nicely textured foliage. Moderate growing. Taxus media ?Densiformis? (Densiformis Yew), 5-6? tall, 3? wide. Evergreen. Dense, broad-based spreading form.

An evergreen vine might be an alternative to a narrow shrub, if you don't mind the vines growing through the chainlink fence.
