|Lilac's develop flower buds during the summer months for the next year's floral display so you won't want to prune yours until after they have finished flowering next spring. If you do prune them back then, they will have all summer to develop new flowering branches and new flower buds. There's not much you need to do for your lilacs other than to keep them healthy all summer long so they can endure the winter weather. Enjoy your lilacs!
