I am looking for plants that would do well in moss hanging baskets, in a sunny, east-facing spot. Would you have any recommendations ?

Creeping Charlie and Creeping Jenny are naturals for hanging baskets in sunny areas. Also consider cascading petunias, ivy geranium, lobelia, nasturtiums, and verbena. Try your favorite annuals in a hanging basket; they'll often trail over the sides and look quite attractive hanging at eye level. Since your moss basket will be in a sunny area, plan to water it daily - sometimes twice a day in the summer months. An easy way to make sure the entire root mass of your planter gets wet, is to submerge the whole planter in a bucket of water for five or ten minutes (until the bubbling stops), and then hang it up to drain. The process refreshes the plants and saturates the soil and the moss.
