I would like to plant some asparagus in my raised bed garden. How far apart should I space the plants? Can I squeeze them closer together than in a regular garden?

Asparagus plants need adequate room for root growth, so plant them 12 inches apart in rows 4' apart. If you have limited space, plant fewer asparagus crowns rather than overcrowding. You'll compromise your harvest if your plants are stressed from competing with one another for moisture and nutrients.
