I live in VT and at this time my pjm's have some leaf drop, which turn red before falling off. Is this normal behavior or ?. We have had alot of moisture this year. Could this be part of the reason?

thank you

What you describe is perfectly normal for your PJM. A reddish cast can indicate exposure to cold temperatures, a nutrient deficiency, or simply a natural aging of the leaves. Make a note on your calendar to feed your rhodie next spring just as new growth begins. Use an acidified fertilizer - one formulated especially for rhododendrons and azaleas - and apply in amounts as recommended on the label.

Best wishes with your garden!
