Anthurium likes average household warmth (minimum 60F in winter), bright - but not direct sunlight - and damp soil. Mist the leaves once or twice a day. It's not an easy plant to grow, but if it's happy an Anthurium will bloom from spring through summer. Calathea are grown for their patterned leaves, and there are about a dozen differnt foliage types. Provide average household temperatures, but avoid sudden fluctuations. Keep plants in partial shade - sunshine will fade the vibrant colors of the leaves - keep the potting soil moist at all times, using soft, tepid water. Mist the leaves frequently or set the plant on a tray filled with water to keep humidity high. Calathea are easy to grow.
