The most common cause of browning leaves is overwatering. Houseplants usually need to be watered thoroughly but then the top half inch of soil should be allowed to dry out before watering again. Sometimes you can judge whether or not a plant needs watering is to pick it up. If it's heavy, it won't need to be watered for a few more days; if it is light weight, it's time to water. The browning leaves will probably drop off, but once you adjust the soil moisture, your plant should replace those lost leaves. Best wishes with your houseplant.
