My zucchini plants grew so big this year, they crowded out my herbs. Basil, thyme and rosemary. The herbs did still receive partial sun and watering was not a problem. I lost all the herbs. Slowly they lost all leaves and died. Do you think this was caused by the proximity to the zucchini? It's new to me. |
Yes, if the zucchini shaded out your sun-loving herbs, I'm sure they suffered from the lack of sunlight. Another problem is that your zucchini had a much larger root system than your herbs and probably competed for moisture and nutrients. Sorry you lost your herbs. Maybe they need a bed of their own next year. |
