zucchini - Knowledgebase Question

My zucchini plants grew so big this year, they crowded out my herbs. Basil, thyme and rosemary. The herbs did still receive partial sun and watering was not a problem. I lost all the herbs. Slowly they lost all leaves and died. Do you think this was caused by the proximity to the zucchini? It's new to me.

Yes, if the zucchini shaded out your sun-loving herbs, I'm sure they suffered from the lack of sunlight. Another problem is that your zucchini had a much larger root system than your herbs and probably competed for moisture and nutrients. Sorry you lost your herbs. Maybe they need a bed of their own next year.
