We have a large property that consists of steep slopes. It is covered in various ice plants and freeway daisies (Osteospermum fruticosum) In certain areas the crab grass, and some other kind of grass like stuff is trying to take over..Is there a spray that will kill the grasses but NOT harm the ground covers???

I wish there were! Sadly, any herbicide that will kill the crabgrass will also kill your groundcovers. The good news is that crabgrass is an annual plant and will die down when the weather gets cold. At that time you can easily pull it out. To prevent it from returning next year, apply a corn gluten meal based pre-emergent herbicide. It won't harm your established plants but will keep weed seeds from germinating. Preen is one brand name, but there are others available, as well. Be sure to follow label directions because timing is extremely important. Pre emergents will keep weed seeds from sprouting but will not kill existing weeds so you need to apply it before the weeds begin to sprout. Best wishes with your landscape!
