Garden mums need to be left outdoors because they need to rest during the winter months. Florist's mums can be taken indoors. They are short-lived but because they have been forced into bloom in a greenhouse they are more adaptable to indoor growing. Potted plants, herbs included, grow best in potting soil. Use a brandname such as Miracle Gro, Kellogg's, etc. rather than an off brand for best results. Enjoy your garden!
