|I nomally don't get home till after dark, but today when I came home early I noticed black spotches or whelps all over the leaves of mine and my neighbors maple tree. What could it be and how do I fix it?
|Without seeing the leaves, I can't positively diagnose the problem, but maple trees commonly get a fungal disease called tar spot. This disease shows up as black blotches on the leaves. The best control is simply to rake up the leaves at the end of the season. Another problem with maples is a disease called Anthracnose. It is more serious and usually requires the help of a certified arborist. Let's hope for the best!|
