Hello Cathy - we are thinking of purchasing window box planters for our home in Central Phoenix. What plants would do well in the heat we experience in Phoenix?

There are actually quite a number of annuals and perennials you can plant in window boxes. I have trouble keeping perennials blooming during the heat of summer but your mileage may vary depending upon the sun exposure your window boxes will receive. ASU has a comprehensive publication you can access: http://cals.arizona.edu/marico...

It gives flower color, blooming period, growing conditions and sun exposure for perennils galore. Hope you find it helpful!
