Is it ok to prune a Rhodo now. I don't care if I loose some blooms.

You can prune your rhododendron now. In addition to losing flowers, you need to be aware that pruning encourages new growth and anything that develops now should have time to harden off before the first frost of the season (typically mid-November). If you prune too late and the new growth doesn't harden off, you'll end up pruning it off in the spring. Hope this clarifies things for you.
