What should I do when I take all my plants out to prepare for next year

After you've pulled out all the old plants you can spread 2-3 inches of organic matter over the soil to help suppress winter weeds. In the spring you can dig or rototill the organic matter into the soil, rake the area smooth and plant your seeds or transplants.
