Do I need a male and female blueberry bush to produce fruit? If so, how do I tell them apart? Also, when is the best time to plant strawberries?

For best fruit production you should plant two different blueberry cultivars. For instance, if you are growing bluecrop, add a misty blue, climax or powder blue to your garden - some other variety, whatever is locally available. You can plant strawberries in the early spring.
