leafless crabapple tree - Knowledgebase Question

My crabapple tree produces large bright red cherries, but no leaves.What should I do?

How very strange! If it produces fruit it must be flowering, which indicates it is healthy, but without leaves for photosynthesis, I doubt it will remain healthy for very long. My only suggestion is that you prune off a leafless branch and have it examined by someone at your local cooperative extension office. They can look at it under a microscope and may be able to diagnose the problem for you. Hope it's nothing serious!
