|Pumpkins can be difficult to transplants but it doesn't sound as though yours will have room to grow in a container. I'd transplant them into the garden by first digging a hole the exact size of the container. Set the container in the ground to make sure the hole is the right size. Then lay the container on its side and coax the plant plus the potting soil out of the pot and set it in the hole you've dug. Press the rootmass down and fill in if necessary around the sides. Water thoroughly after transplant. Good luck with your volunteer plant!
