Hi. I was told at my local Home Depot to use a dishwashing detergent solution on my Hibiscus to kill bugs. I do not remember which kind and how much water to mix with the detergent. Plus, I need to know how often to spray the plant for bugs. Thanks for your help!

You can make a soap spray of 1-2% liquid dish soap such as ivory. However the better product is an insecticidal soap such as Safer's. These products are labeled for use against aphids and whiteflies and are less likely to burn sensitive plants. When you do a home remedy you do so at you own risk.
