|I had planned to split my Iris and day lilies this week. However after all the rain in Atlanta the ground is very wet. My Iris were under water for a day during the flood. Can I still divide them or should I wait until Spring?

|You can dig and divide your iris and daylilies as soon as the soil dries out a bit. You don't really want to work wet soil or you will end up with huge clods that will be hard to break up. If the soil refuses to dry out before cold weather sets in you may need to wait until early spring to dig and divide your plants. Hope things dry out soon!
