I just purchased an Emperor One Japanese Maple and I'm not going to be able to get it in the ground until next Spring. How can I care for it until then?

The biggest concern is keeping the roots protected from winter cold. You can wrap the container with insulating material and place the tree in a site next to a building to protect the tree from winter winds. Best wishes with your new tree!
