Phyla nodiflora rosea is commonly called lippia, lip flower, frog fruit, sawtooth fogfruit, turkey tangle, turkey tangle fogfruit, etc., is an ornamental plant in the Verbenaceae family, which is native to Brazil and the United States. It makes a great groundcover and the plants may be available in California nurseries (you may need to phone ahead) or you can purchase seeds from B & T World Seeds ( or Native Sons Nursery in San Luis Obispo ( Or, if you know someone with plants growing in their yard, ask if you can dig up a start. Best wishes with your new plants!
