i have a bougainvillea

It sounds as though your bougainvillea is getting too much water. They prefer soils on the dry side and the amount of water your other plants need is just a bit too much for your bougainvillea. Your annuals will die back soon and at that time you can reduce watering to make your bougainvillea happy. Just a heads-up: Bougainvilleas are frost tender so you'll need to move the container to a protected area in your garden to keep the roots from freezing over the winter months.
