You can increase your inventory of hibiscus by taking stem cuttings in the late spring. Just cut a stem 8-12 inches long, remove the lower leaves, dip the cut end in rooting hormone, and plant it in some moistened potting soil. Put the cuttings in a draft-free place, in a bright location, and keep the soil moist. You may not have 100% success with all of your cuttings, but some of them will root. The appearance of new leaves on the stems will indicate your cuttings have rooted. Good luck!
