I have several Mexican Bird of Paradise Plants, however, I really love the variety that are prevalent in Hawaii. We will visit there in December and they sell seeds for that plant. Will it survive in SA and do you need to presoak the seeds?

The common bird of paradise, that which grows in Hawaii, is Strelitzia nicolai. It will grow in San Antonio. Just to be sure we're on the same page, it looks nothing like the Mexican Bird of Paradise. The only thing these two plants have in common are the common names!
