I live in New Jersey and want to take advantage of all the bargains on shrubs from garden centers. How long is it safe to plant? Also, is it okay to transplant a hydragena.

You can plant landscape trees and shrubs any time the ground is not frozen so I think you have a few more weeks. Water throughly after planting to help settle the soil. Your new plants will become established when the soil temperature allows and should be ready to grow in the spring. Hope you find some great bargains!
