Do you cut back daylilies in the fall?

Wait until frost kills back the foliage and then prune it back to ground level. Allowing frost to kill the tops of the plants signals the plants to go into dormancy. Cutting the tops back prior to frost will encourage new growth. So, just wait until it dies down and then remove the dead foliage from your daylilies.
