My everlasting hydraggeas are quite large. Do I cut them back now or wait for the spring. I live in Southern Maine.

You can prune off the flowers to shorten the stems a little but I'd wait until spring to do any major pruning. Just wait until the buds swell on the stems and them prune your hydrangea back. You can prune it back to about knee high and then remove some of the oldest stems, leaving the youngest most vigorous stems. Your plant will grow and flower right on time next summer. Enjoy!
