Please recommend some native grass seeds for my meadow garden on a corner lot in inland Long Beach. Size -about 3,000 sf, including 2 parkways. Soil -mostly clay w some amendments for drainage. Sun - sunny w some partial shade. Water -overhead sprinklers w some drip. Prefer drought tolerant low maintenance. Looking for low ground cover type grasses for between trees n shrubs. Thank you.

Some native grasses to consider include California oatgrass (Danthonia californica), red fescue (Festuca rubra), thingrass (Agrostis diegoensis), tufted hairgrass (Deschampsia holciformis), and Pacific dune sedge (Carex pansa). You might also consider purple needlegrass (Nassella pulchra), junegrass (Koeleria macrantha), and Idaho fescue (F. idahoensis roemeri).
