Do trumpet vines produce suckers the way that roses do?

Rose suckers are the result of new shoots forming from the rootstock. If you are growing an "own-root" plant, the suckers will match the rest of the plant. If you are growing a grafted rose, however, the suckers will not match -- they will be true to the root stock rather than the grafted top. Trumpet vines will send up additional shoots of vine from the ground as they grow older and larger, so they chould match the vine you have unless you are growing a grafted plant.
