crape myrtles have finished blooming. can i start trimming them back so they will be thicker next spring?

It will be better for the crape myrtles if you wait until next spring to prune them back. Since they bloom on the new growth of the season, pruning in the early spring will encourage lots of new flowering growth. Enjoy!
