| My calla lily won't flower. The plant grows, but doesn't blossom. I've fertilized it twice in the past 10 months with fertilizer stakes. It gets plenty of light and I water it about once per week or whenever it needs it. The edges of the leaves are starting to turn brown. What should I do? |
| It sounds like you're doing everything correctly, but callas need a rest in order to grow and bloom properly. There is a natural resting period that callas go through during the fall, when the leaves should wither and dry up. At that point, gradually slack of watering, and allow it to rest for 3-4 months. Repot it in fresh, rich potting soil (make sure to place the rhizomes 4-6" deep), and resume feeding and watering. Hope this does the trick! |
