I SPRIGGED A AREA WITH CENTIPEDE SPRIGS AND USED BEGINNER FERTILIZER AS YOU SUGGESTED. NOW SHOULD I USE ANY FERTILIZER BEFORE SPRING I SPRIGED IN JUNE AND JULY |
Centipede grass does not need as much fertilizer as some other lawn grasses, but it can turn yellow if the soil is alkaline and low in iron. If this is a problem, spread iron sulphate or iron chelate. Otherwise, just fertilize in the early spring with 1 to 2 pounds of actual nitrogen per 1,000 square feet. |
