|You purchased one of the more vigorous trumpet vines and it will do just fine out in your garden if you plant it now. All the flowers are produced on the new growth of the season so you'll want to prune it annually in late winter or early spring to encourage lots of new growth. If you don't prune it back hard it will have bare stems and flowers and leaves only at the very top. So be ruthless with the vines when you're pruning. Enjoy your trumpet vine!
