boston fern & oleander - Knowledgebase Question

I transplanted my 4 and 5 foot oleanders from large pots to the side yard in full sun. I cant keep the catipillars away - Help! have not seen a single bloom, advise. Also, i bought 3 large (overgrown)hanging boston ferns, that are busting at the seems. Can i take them out, clean them up, then put in new soil & fertlizer, will they be ok back in the hanging pot, i think they r too big. thx

Oleander caterpillars can be controlled with bacillus thuringensis (Bt, sold as Dipel or Thuricide) or with a Permethrin based spray.

You can unpot your Boston ferns, divide them into smaller plants and replant them in fresh potting soil. Cut back the dead fronds to make the plants look more attractive.
