|My dwarf yaupon holly shrubs are slowly dying one by one, becoming very brittle and leafless. No brown or yellowing. What could be plaguing them and what should I do?

|I can't really diagnose the problem without inspecting the plants so I can only offer an educated guess. There is a disease that hollies can contract called black root rot. It is a soilborne disease and can persist for many years. Diseased plants usually decline over a period of months (or years) and eventually die. Aside from black root rot, I am not sure what the problem might be. Hope this information is helpful.
