I read somewhere that I can overturn the grass that I dig up and use it for building up the burm which also serves as compost. Is this true? I don't want grass to grow in the burm.

Thanks.

If you dig and turn it over now, you may have a problem with it sprouting. If you turn it over in the summer and leave the roots exposed to the sunshine for a week or two, the grass will die and turn to compost. It's just too cool and wet this time of year to effectively kill the grass if you dig and turn it over now. Wait until summertime and you'll be more successful.
