I live in the Colorado desert of Southern California. I was adjusting a bubbler head on my irrigation system in the middle of a lantana bush and encountered a 2 foot sidewinder rattlesnake. Is there any way of trapping or eradicating these dangerous critters?

If left alone, most rattlesnakes will move on to another area. If yours is persistent, it is legal to kill them with a shovel or a club. If you'd rather not deal with them in this way, your county agricultural commissioner or Cooperative Extension office may be able to direct you to professionals who remove rattlesnakes.
