Looking for a ground cover that will do well year round in Tampa Florida area. It would need to stand mowing and do well with minimal watering. I am new to the area and am told Cinch Bugs are a problem for the common lawn grasses used here so am looking for an alternative.

Perennial peanut (Arachis glabrata) is an awesome groundcover and it thrives in Tampa. 'Ecoturf' and 'Arblick' are the best cultivars. The plants are low growing, drought and heat tolerant, insect and disease resistant, and they develop small yellow flowers during the summer months. Hope it's just what you are looking for!
