I am new to the area from the West Coast and I am having troubles with getting my plants to grow. I lost all of the sod that I put down as well. Any tips or clinics that I can go to for local area?

I'd start by visiting your local cooperative extension office: St. Johns County Extension, 3125 Agricultural Center Drive, St. Augustine, FL 32092-0572
Phone: (904) 209-0430 and looking through their gardening publications. Their Master Gardener program usually schedules lots of gardening workshops and lectures, as well. Between the publications and the workshops, you should glean lots of insight. Best of all you can phone a Master Gardener to talk about specific gardening problems. Best wishes with your landscape!
