Geraniums of all kinds appreciate all-day sunshine and soil that's allowed to dry out slightly between waterings. Plan to provide 6-8 hours of sunlight, or give only late-afternoon shade. Geraniums that grow with less sunshine will not be as lush or develop as many blooms. You can pinch the growing tips out of leggy geraniums to make them appear fuller, if you need to plant them in an area that gets less than 6-8 hours of sunshine a day.
