|Can I cut back my perennial hibiscus now, or should I wait until frost, or the spring? Will it hurt it now?

|Pruning encourages new growth so wait until frost signals the plant to go into dormancy. Or, wait until spring and prune it back then. I'm afraid if you prune now, before your first frost that the plant will expend energy putting out new growth which will killed back by winter weather. So, wait a few more weeks. When the plant is dormant you can prune. Enjoy your garden!
