|I live in Houston,Tx. I've bought Garden Mums from home depot on Nov 1st.I wanna plant them on the ground. My question is if i plant them now will they survive the winter?and their leaves will remain green or not?or will the plant die. Please reply to me as soon as possible.
|Garden mums are perennial plants, even in Houston. Plant them outdoors now and in December they will die down (after a hard frost). At that time cut all of the stems down to ground level and pile a few inches of compost, straw or pine needles over the top of the soil. In the spring new stems will emerge from the roots and new plants will develop. Enjoy!|
