Whether it's summer or fall, use a fertilizer with a 3-1-2 ratio of NPK. You can use a 21-7-14 or similar to ensure a healthy lawn over the winter months and a quick green up in the spring. Just to clarify things, Nitrogen, the first number, promotes healthy top growth; Phosphorous, the second number, strengthens stem growth; the last number, Potassium, encourages healthy root growth. Hope this information helps!
