I am new to the 73116 area. Will my hibiscus make it in the garage for the winter or would (in) the house be a better option for them. They are large in large pots and have been living at the Texas coast before Hurricane Ike. Will I have to prune them before they go back to the patio. Is there anything else I need to do for them.

Your zip code is incorrect so I can't find your gardening zone but I suspect it will be too cold for tropical hibiscus outdoors and since these are evergreen plants, they won't be too happy sitting in a garage for the winter. So, I'd prune them back to a manageable size and take them indoors for the winter months. They will respond to bright light, warm temperatures and adequate water. Be sure to keep them out of drafts from heater vents, and away from radiated heat from fireplaces and wood stoves. You can take them back outdoors next spring and they should grow and bloom nicely for you. Enjoy!
